What is ETA – Electronic Travel Authorization

People travelling to Canada from visa exempt countries generally require ETA. This is mandatory if the travel is by air.

Applying for ETA is an online process and can be approved very quickly. ETA needs to be applied before you book your flight to Canada.

Application Process for ETA is as follows:

  • Keep your documents ready for applying online for e.g. passport, debit/credit card etc.
  • Fill the online form for the process; the form cannot be saved so you will have to ensure that all information is handy.
  • After completing the form, next step is to pay the application fee using your debit/credit card.
  • Once this is done you will get an email about your ETA application.

The application can be processed for one person at a time. Any communication will be done through email only.
